1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern irislightwithin.com, the limited-access Iris web app at irisapp.app, and any Iris service that links to these Terms (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are operated by Iris Light Within LLC (“Iris,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Native mobile apps have not been publicly released and are not covered as available products unless a later release links to these Terms.
By creating an account, selecting an acceptance control, purchasing a plan, or otherwise using the Services after these Terms are presented, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy, Important Disclosures, and Safety & Limits. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Please read Section 18 carefully. It requires most disputes to be resolved through individual binding arbitration and includes a class-action and jury-trial waiver, subject to stated exceptions and a 30-day opt-out right.
2. Eligibility: people 18 and over
You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter a binding agreement. You may not use Iris on behalf of a person under 18 or allow a person under 18 to use your account.
3. Iris is artificial intelligence
Iris is an AI system, not a human. Responses are generated by automated systems and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, repetitive, biased, inappropriate, or based on a misunderstanding of what you said.
AI-generated outputs do not represent verified facts or the independent views of Iris Light Within LLC. You agree to evaluate important information and seek qualified help when appropriate.
4. What Iris provides
The public website provides information about Iris and links to legal, safety, privacy, and support resources. The limited-access web app may provide AI conversation, voice, journals, cross-conversation memory, topic hubs, sounds, notifications, guest access, account controls, and paid web subscriptions. Feature availability varies by account, release stage, location, and technical configuration.
The terms displayed in the web app or at checkout govern the price, billing interval, promotional period, features, and usage limits for that transaction. Only features made available to your account are part of the Services. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features, subject to non-waivable consumer rights.
5. Important professional limits
Iris is for general reflection and wellness. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent disease, and it is not a therapist, psychologist, counselor, doctor, lawyer, accountant, tax adviser, investment adviser, credit counselor, or other licensed professional.
- No diagnosis, treatment, prescription, or medication guidance.
- No legal, tax, accounting, credit, insurance, or investment advice.
- No promise of a particular emotional, spiritual, financial, business, relationship, or health outcome.
- No professional relationship or duty of care is created.
Never start, stop, or change medication or medical treatment based on Iris. Do not disregard or delay professional advice because of an AI response.
6. Crisis and emergency use
Iris is not an emergency or crisis-intervention service and does not provide continuous human monitoring, immediate intervention, or emergency dispatch. Do not rely on Iris to keep you or another person safe.
In the United States, call 911 for immediate danger. Call or text 988 for suicide or self-harm crisis support. Outside the United States, contact the appropriate local emergency or crisis service.
7. Your beliefs and decisions remain yours
Iris supports human decision-making; Iris does not make consequential decisions for users. You remain responsible for your choices, actions, and reliance on output.
You may not use Iris output as the sole basis for decisions about medical care, legal rights, investments, credit, employment, housing, insurance, benefits, education admissions, public safety, or another person’s access to an important opportunity.
For unusual experiences, Iris may explore observations, feelings, possible meanings, and ordinary explanations. Iris does not establish that a paranormal, spiritual, medical, criminal, or persecutory explanation is true.
8. Accounts and security
You must provide accurate information, keep credentials confidential, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account to the extent permitted by law.
Accounts, access rights, subscriptions, and free allowances are personal and nontransferable. Do not sell, transfer, or share an account. Iris may use reasonable security, verification, rate-limit, and anti-abuse measures.
9. Acceptable use
You may not use the Services to:
- Break the law, violate another person’s rights, or facilitate fraud, abuse, exploitation, harassment, or violence.
- Generate or distribute unlawful, hateful, sexually exploitative, extremist, or intentionally deceptive content.
- Impersonate an identifiable person or create, request, or share content using another person’s name, likeness, voice, or identifying information without authorization.
- Encourage self-harm, harm to others, or use Iris as a substitute for emergency or professional care.
- Upload malware, harvest credentials or contact information, send spam, interfere with security, evade limits, scrape the Services, or use unauthorized bots or automation.
- Reverse engineer, copy, resell, sublicense, or use Iris content or outputs to train a competing AI system without written permission.
- Submit information you do not have the right to provide.
We may investigate, restrict, suspend, or terminate use that violates these Terms or threatens users, third parties, or the Services. We may preserve or disclose relevant information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce these Terms, investigate claims, address fraud or security, or protect rights and safety.
10. Content you provide
You retain your rights in content you submit. You give Iris and its service providers a limited, worldwide, nonexclusive license to host, reproduce, transmit, process, display to you, and otherwise use that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, troubleshoot, maintain, and support the Services; comply with law; and exercise the rights described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy. This license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except for lawful retention, security records, and routine backup cycles.
You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed for text, images, audio, links, names, and information about other people that you provide. Iris will not publish a private conversation, feedback submission, or unusual-experience account as a testimonial or public story without separate affirmative permission. Product feedback and suggestions may be used to improve Iris without payment or obligation, but this feedback clause does not convert private conversations into promotional or model-training content.
11. AI outputs, app license, and intellectual property
Subject to applicable law and third-party rights, you may use outputs generated for you. Similar or identical output may be generated for others, and Iris does not guarantee that output is unique or eligible for intellectual-property protection.
Iris grants you a limited, personal, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable, and nonsublicensable right to access and use the Services for lawful personal purposes while these Terms apply. Iris Light Within LLC and its licensors retain rights in the Services, software, prompts, branding, app icon, designs, underlying systems, documentation, and other protected material. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the AI models or the Services.
12. Web payments, subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation
Paid access is currently offered, when enabled, through the web app and processed by Stripe. Before you complete a purchase, the checkout should display the price, billing interval, any introductory period, renewal terms, included access, and cancellation method. A recurring subscription renews automatically for the period shown at checkout until it is canceled.
You may cancel through any billing or subscription control made available in the web app or by contacting app@irislightwithin.com. Cancel before the renewal date shown in your account or checkout records to avoid the next charge. Cancellation stops future renewal and does not ordinarily refund a period already purchased, except where the purchase screen says otherwise or applicable law requires.
Deleting your Iris account is not a substitute for confirming subscription cancellation. If you have paid web access, cancel it and keep the confirmation before deleting the account.
Iris does not receive your full payment-card number. Stripe processes payment credentials under its own terms and privacy practices. Native mobile subscriptions are not currently offered.
13. Third-party and separate services
The Services use providers for AI and speech processing, cloud hosting, authentication, database and storage, security, email, communications, payment processing, analytics, crash reporting, website hosting, and media. Their terms and privacy practices may apply to their processing. Iris is not responsible for a third-party service outside its control.
Links to social networks, YouTube, unusualexperiences.app, and other external sites open separate services. The terms and privacy notice shown by the destination govern information you submit there. A link does not make that service part of Iris or authorize its operator to use private Iris conversations.
14. Suspension, termination, service changes, and deletion
You may stop using Iris and request account deletion. We may restrict or terminate access for Terms violations, fraud, security risks, legal obligations, nonpayment, misuse, or threats to users or service integrity. Where appropriate and legally required, we will provide notice or an appeal path.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Services, including limited-access features. We do not promise indefinite storage or continued availability of a particular model, feature, provider, free allowance, or platform.
Account deletion is described at Delete an Account. Limited transaction, consent, deletion, fraud-prevention, security, dispute, legal-hold, and records needed to document deletion, consent, or legal compliance may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy. Confirm cancellation of any paid web subscription separately.
15. Copyright complaints
To report alleged copyright infringement involving material available through the Services, email app@irislightwithin.com with: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the copyrighted work; identification and location of the material at issue; your contact information; a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act for the rights holder.
This contact is an intake channel and is not a representation that Iris has registered a designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office.
16. Service disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” Iris Light Within LLC disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We do not guarantee that output is correct, safe, complete, current, or suitable for your circumstances; that a safety system will identify risk; that data will be preserved beyond disclosed retention periods; or that use will achieve a particular result.
17. Limitation of liability and indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Iris Light Within LLC and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, or decisions made in reliance on AI output.
Subject to rights that cannot lawfully be limited, the aggregate liability of Iris Light Within LLC will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid to Iris during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
You agree to indemnify and defend Iris Light Within LLC against third-party claims arising from your unlawful use, content you had no right to submit, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person’s rights, to the extent permitted by law.
18. Binding individual arbitration and class-action waiver
This section affects legal rights. Except for the exceptions below, you and Iris agree to resolve covered disputes through final and binding individual arbitration, not in court or before a jury.
Informal resolution first
Before starting arbitration, the complaining party must send a written notice describing the claimant, facts, requested relief, and relevant account contact information. Send notice to app@irislightwithin.com and Iris Light Within LLC, 4235 SE 20th Place, Suite 401A, Cape Coral, Florida 33904. The parties will try in good faith to resolve the dispute for 60 days after receipt.
Arbitration agreement
If unresolved, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to the Services, these Terms, or the relationship between you and Iris will be resolved by individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this Section. The arbitrator may award the same individual remedies a court could award, but only as needed to resolve the individual claim.
Arbitration may occur by documents, telephone, video, or at a reasonably convenient location as the rules permit. Fees will be allocated under the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules. Iris will pay amounts the rules require a business to pay, including amounts above any consumer filing fee capped by those rules, unless the arbitrator determines a claim was filed for an improper purpose as permitted by law.
Exceptions
Either party may bring an eligible individual claim in small-claims court. Either party may seek temporary or preliminary injunctive relief in a court with jurisdiction to protect intellectual property, confidential information, account or service security, or to preserve the status quo while arbitration is pending. A request for public injunctive relief may proceed in court to the extent applicable law does not allow that request to be arbitrated. A person alleging a dispute involving sexual assault or sexual harassment may elect the forum rights provided by 9 U.S.C. § 402. Government agencies may enforce rights within their authority.
No class or representative proceedings
To the fullest extent permitted by law, disputes must proceed only on an individual basis. Neither party may bring or participate in a class, collective, coordinated, consolidated, or representative action or arbitration. If this waiver is finally found unenforceable for a particular claim or remedy, that claim or remedy will proceed in court after the arbitrable portions are completed, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
30-day right to opt out
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending a written notice within 30 days after you first accept the October 8, 2026 version of these Terms. The notice must include your name, account email or phone, and a clear statement that you opt out of the Iris arbitration agreement. Send it to the email and mailing address above. Opting out does not affect other Terms. This Section does not apply to a claim filed in court before the date you first accepted this version.
19. Florida law and court forum
These Terms are governed by Florida law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs Section 18 and mandatory consumer protections remain available. For a dispute not required to be arbitrated, you and Iris consent to the state courts located in Lee County, Florida, or the federal court with jurisdiction over Lee County, Florida, unless applicable law requires a different forum.
If Section 18 is found wholly unenforceable, this Section governs the forum for the dispute. Nothing in these Terms prevents a user from exercising a right that cannot lawfully be waived.
20. General terms
These Terms, together with policies expressly incorporated by reference, are the entire agreement about the Services. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the greatest lawful extent and the remaining provisions remain in effect, except as specifically stated in Section 18. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Headings are for convenience only.
You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. Iris may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, or sale of all or part of its business, subject to applicable law.
21. Changes to the Services or Terms
We may update the Services and these Terms prospectively. We will post the revised version and date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice and request renewed acceptance when required by law or when reasonably appropriate, including before applying a new arbitration term to future disputes.
