Iris is designed to help you slow down, sort through what matters, and see your situation more clearly.
Share a thought, feeling, question, decision, memory, or experience. You do not need to know exactly how to say it.
02Iris responds calmly and asks focused questions that help you look at what happened, what it stirred in you, and what matters now.
03Leave with clearer words, a new perspective, or a practical next step that still belongs to you.
Iris supports human decision-making. Iris does not make consequential decisions for users. It does not replace trusted people, qualified professional care, or emergency services.

For moments in life you cannot easily explain
Had an experience you cannot explain? Tell Iris what happened.
Iris will guide you through thoughtful questions to help you explore what it may mean to you—privately, calmly, and without judgment. Iris helps you slow down, reflect on what the experience stirred in you, and consider it in a grounded way.
Iris will not dismiss your experience, confirm an unverified cause as fact, or tell you what to believe.
Founders
On July 3, 2017. I had an experience I still cannot explain that changed my life forever. More unusual experiences followed, and I began to feel I was being guided toward a new purpose: to use the rest of my life to help others.
Bill Ulrich, FounderI have not lived a perfect life, and there are parts of my past I regret more than I can say. But after July 3, 2017, I have tried to live differently and to use the rest of my life to do something good. That journey led me to create Iris—a private, welcoming place where people can talk about unusual experiences and life’s difficult, meaningful, and deeply personal moments without judgment or pressure.
I do not claim to know why these experiences happened to me or what they should mean to anyone else. Iris exists so people can explore their own experiences, thoughts, and questions and decide for themselves what they might mean.

Lana’s own unusual experiences, compassion, and close work with Bill helped shape Iris into something personal and approachable. She will remain an important voice and public face of the project.
“There may be meaning behind your spiritual or unusual experiences. Explore them with Iris.”

The Iris Light Within app was created to help people find the beauty and clarity that can come from reflecting on the light that shines within them.

In memory
After Bill’s own rainbow experience, he searched for someone who might understand what he had witnessed. That search led him to Paul “Bear” Vasquez, known around the world as the Double Rainbow Guy.
Bill flew to meet Paul and spent three days with him. Paul later lived with Bill and Lana for approximately six months. During that time, they recorded hours of video and devoted themselves to one central question: How could we help change the world and make it a better place?
Paul’s original Double Rainbow video became a worldwide phenomenon, but to Bill and Lana he was much more than an internet phenomenon. He was their friend. His wonder, sense of purpose, and hopes became an important part of the journey that eventually led to Iris.
Iris is dedicated to his memory.
