Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using Iris Light Within App (“Iris,” the “App,” “we,” “us”), you agree to be bound
by these Terms of Service (“Terms”), our Privacy Policy, and any guidelines we post. If you do not agree, do not use
the App.
Material Changes: For material changes, we will provide conspicuous notice (e.g., in‐app banner, email) at least 10
days before the new Terms take effect. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
2. Eligibility & Age Restrictions
• 18+ (default): You must be at least 18 years old.
• 16–17 (teen tier): Teens may use the App only with verifiable parental or legal‐guardian consent and supervision.
• Under 16: Prohibited. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. Any such data will be deleted
promptly.
Age Gate & International Compliance: We use an age‐gate at sign‐up and require parental consent for ages 16-17.
For users in the EU/UK, where local law may set a digital age of consent up to 16, we require consent consistent with
local law.
Operator Option: At any time, Iris may operate as 18+ only.
3. License & Intellectual Property
We grant you a personal, revocable, non‐exclusive, non‐transferable license to use the App. All content, code,
trademarks, and designs are our property or our licensors’. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease,
sublicense, or otherwise exploit the App, nor reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except where such
restrictions are prohibited by law.
Feedback: If you submit ideas or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty‐free license to
use them without restriction.
4. Content & Advice Disclaimer
The App provides AI‐generated text, audio, and images for inspiration and personal growth. It is not professional
medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. The App is not a medical device, does not provide diagnosis or
treatment, and is not regulated by the FDA or equivalent. If you feel emotionally unsafe or are thinking about harming
yourself or others, call 911 (U.S.) or 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) immediately. Teens should notify a trusted adult.
5. Acceptable Use Policy (summary)
You agree not to: (i) violate any law; (ii) harass, abuse, or defame others; (iii) upload offensive, hateful, or explicit
material; (iv) attempt to reverse‐engineer or overload the App; (v) use bots or automation without written permission;
(vi) collect or attempt to collect personal data of others; (vii) generate or disseminate misinformation, self‐harm
content, or content intended to deceive or manipulate. (viii) engage in excessive, automated, or abusive use of the
App. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to rate-limit, throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts that exceed
fair-use expectations; (ix) circumvent or abuse subscription token or usage limits. Certain paid tiers may include
defined token or usage thresholds. If these are reached, we may impose temporary cooldowns, slowdowns, or
access restrictions, even if time remains on the subscription.
Enforcement & Appeal: We may issue warnings, rate‐limit, suspend, or terminate accounts. If your account is
suspended, you may appeal by contacting support; we will review in a commercially reasonable time.
6. User‐Generated Content; Model Training; DMCA Ownership: You retain ownership of content you submit.
License to Operate Services: You grant us a worldwide, non‐exclusive, royalty‐free license to host, store, process,
transmit, display, and create derivative works of your content solely to operate and improve the App.
Model Training Choice: By default, we do not use private journal/chat content to train models. Aggregated analytics
may be used to improve system performance.
DMCA: We comply with the DMCA and will remove infringing content upon valid notice. Counter‐notices may be
submitted per the DMCA.
7. Payments, Auto‐Renewal & Refunds
Free and paid tiers are subject to disclosed fair‐use limits. Paid plans auto‐renew until canceled.
Auto‐Renewal (ARL Compliance): We present clear auto‐renew terms at checkout, send renewal reminders as
required by law, and provide an easy, immediate cancellation method in‐app/on web.
Refunds: Fees are non‐refundable except (a) where required by law; (b) documented billing errors; or (c) service
failure not remedied within a reasonable time after notice.
8. Account Security
You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity under your account. We are not liable for
unauthorized access caused by your failure to implement reasonable safeguards.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for any violation of these Terms or if required by law. We also reserve the right,
at our sole discretion, to terminate or restrict access to the App from any account, at any time, with or without notice.
You may delete your account at any time.
10. Disclaimers; Limitation of Liability
The App is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Iris and its affiliates will not
be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, even if advised of the
possibility. In no event will our total liability exceed the greater of US$100 or the amounts you paid to us in the 12
months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Severability: If any part of this Section is found unenforceable, the remainder remains in force.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Iris and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and
against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or
in any way connected with your use or misuse of the Services or violation of these Terms.
12. Governing Law & Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict‐of‐law rules. Exclusive
venue lies in the state or federal courts located in Lee County, Florida.
Consumer Protections: Nothing herein limits mandatory consumer protections under the laws of your country of
residence.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update the Terms by posting a revised version with a new “Last Updated” date.
14. Additional Boilerplate
Assignment: You may not assign these Terms; we may assign to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or sale.
Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays/failures due to events beyond our reasonable control.
Export: You agree to comply with applicable export and sanctions laws.
Entire Agreement: These Terms and incorporated policies constitute the entire agreement between you and us.
